For some reason Shelby had a really hard time adjusting to school this year. Same teachers, same classroom, but not a happy Shelby. For the first month and a half of school it just kept getting worse and worse. She would cry the second that I walked into her room in the morning, she HATED the bus, she would cry at school, she would cry after school...you get the picture. It was almost to the point where I was about to take her out because it just wasnt worth it. LUCKILY, Shelby has the greatest teacher ever. She is so wonderful and amazing with Shelby. We set up a meeting and talked a long time about what would be best for Shelby. We decided that it was a combination of the cranky, old morning bus driver, emotional immaturity and waking up too early. I also had a meeting with a child psychologist that gave me some great tips on things that would help Shelby. I started taking her to school. I dont wake her up early, just take her when she wakes up. It has made a world of difference. She is back to her normal, happy self. She loves school again!
I am so truly grateful for Shelby's school. I feel like there is no better place for her right now. She has 2 teachers and 2 other students in her class. She gets so much one on one time. She is able to be seen by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, orientation and mobility specialist every month. It's a wonderful blessing for us!

That's so wonderful that they have teachers who want to do what's best for Shelby. What a relief that she's loving it now!

I am so glad that you were able to figure out how to help her past her rough start. It seems like such a great school.

What an amazing teacher and school. I think it's wonderful that they're willing to work aroundw what's best for that sweet little Shelby. I'm SO happy for all of you that she's liking it again!
