We had a wonderful Christmas this year. Lots of great family time. We spent Christmas Eve having a candlelight dinner with my family and then with Tucker's family. The kids slept in until 9:00 on Christmas morning! I woke up WAY earlier then them! :) We had my parents come down and watch the kids cute faces as they saw what Santa brought them. They were both really excited to see all of their new toys! We went over to the Steeds for some yummy breakfast then came back to my parents so the kids could take a nap and we could play some Beatles Rock Band. Good stuff! That night we went back over to the Steeds and relaxed for the rest of the evening. It was a great day! I LOVE watching the kids get excited.

A Kind Soul

I have been so busy this holiday season that I feel like I have completely forgot the true meaning of Christmas. Something happened today that stopped me dead in my tracks and reminded me. I may never know who to say thank you to, but THANK YOU to whoever it was. I am also thankful for the great examples of kindness and charity that I have in my life every day. My parents are 2 of those people. Thank you for letting us live in your house and for ALWAYS thinking of us. It is truly wonderful to be surrounded by such good people. I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and remembers the reason for the season.

Cute little Samantha and Shelby

We went to the Today show on the last morning. Shelby wasn't loving it. :)

We just got back yesterday from a wonderful girls trip to New York Me and Shelby went with Tucker's cousin Michele and her daughter Samantha. We all took a red eye out on Saturday night and met up with Michele and Samantha at the airport. Luckily our hotel let us check in at 6:30 so that we were able to take a nap before we hit the city. The first day we were there it rained pretty much the whole day, but that did not stop us. We walked around most of the afternoon and saw quite a few of the gorgeous Christmas stuff that was set up. Monday was great. It wasn't too cold and we had so much fun. We let the girls play in Central Park and FAO Schwartz in the morning and then at12:30 we had an appointment at the American Girl doll store for a tea party/lunch with the dolls. It was one of the cutest things I have ever done. They let you choose a doll to borrow for lunch and have chairs that hook right to the table so the dolls can eat with you. Of course Nemo got to have his own chair too. They served delicious appetizers, lunch and dessert. It was so much fun. Next stop was Radio City Music Hall for the Christmas Rockettes show. We were lucky enough to get 2nd row tickets. It was perfect. Shelby was able to see everything and she loved the show! After the show we walked down to Macy's to see the store windows and sneak a peak at Santa...which they had him hidden away so that you can't see him unless you stand it line. Lame. We walked over to Bryant Park to do some window shopping and watch the ice skaters. Then Back to Sachs to see the lights show there. We were EXHAUSTED by the end of the day. Shelby was such a trooper, she never complained and did great. On Tuesday we got up and watched the Today Show for a bit and let the girls play around at Central Park again. Samantha and Shelby had such a great time together. We decided to take the Subway back to the airport instead of a taxi and I barely made our flight. I forgot how long it takes and didn't quite leave us enough time. I had to flash the ole employee badge and run through security and right onto the flight. It was a close call. I made poor Shelby run those little legs all around that day. It was a great vacation and a new yearly tradition!

Keaton was loving the salsa!

Tucker's birthday was this week so we decided to go to the Festival of Trees and the Mayan with his family to celebrate. The festival was SO crowded. I did not love it. It took forever to get there and was too crowded to enjoy. So many pretty tree's though! I think it's wonderful all the proceeds go to Primary Children's. After the Festival we went to the Mayan for dinner. The kids LOVE it so much. We had a fun time. Happy Birthday baby!

Shelby's School

Ready for school!

Ryann, Shelby and Sam

Shelby's classroom

The indoor playground

The pool that Shelby loves swimming at every Thursday

For some reason Shelby had a really hard time adjusting to school this year. Same teachers, same classroom, but not a happy Shelby. For the first month and a half of school it just kept getting worse and worse. She would cry the second that I walked into her room in the morning, she HATED the bus, she would cry at school, she would cry after get the picture. It was almost to the point where I was about to take her out because it just wasnt worth it. LUCKILY, Shelby has the greatest teacher ever. She is so wonderful and amazing with Shelby. We set up a meeting and talked a long time about what would be best for Shelby. We decided that it was a combination of the cranky, old morning bus driver, emotional immaturity and waking up too early. I also had a meeting with a child psychologist that gave me some great tips on things that would help Shelby. I started taking her to school. I dont wake her up early, just take her when she wakes up. It has made a world of difference. She is back to her normal, happy self. She loves school again!
I am so truly grateful for Shelby's school. I feel like there is no better place for her right now. She has 2 teachers and 2 other students in her class. She gets so much one on one time. She is able to be seen by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, orientation and mobility specialist every month. It's a wonderful blessing for us!

A great weekend!

We loved it!

Snow White

Keaton was mesmerized

The Mayan!

Keaton will NOT look at the camera.

We had a really great weekend this past week. On Thursday night we decided at the last minute that we wanted to take the kids to Disney on Ice. So we drove down there and got some cheap tickets. The kids loved it! Keaton never took his eyes off the whole show and Shelby was screaming with excitement the whole time. On Friday night we decided to take the kids to the Mayan. They have never been there so I thought that they might like it.
